Job Posting: General Stores Worker (Main Pharmacy Stores)

Position Details

Minimum requirement: Basic numeracy and literacy
Experience: Appropriate experience in medical stores
Inherent requirements of the job: Must be able to manage heavy cartons on a continuous basis. Good communication skills (verbal and written) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
Competencies (knowledge/skills): Good interpersonal and communication skills

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Receipt of stock delivered of non-pharmaceutical goods from suppliers
Checking contents of cartons for correctness against the invoice and noting expiry dates and batch numbers
Checking external appearance for damage and accuracy
Delivering finished, final, and packaged pharmaceutical items to designated areas in the hospital
Placing checked stock in designated places and upholding the cold chain
Assisting with the issuing of stock to the pharmacy
Stocktaking and keeping the areas neat, tidy, and hygienic
Reporting all deviations and discrepancies
