R499 275 per annum (all-inclusive annual remuneration package, R694 939 per annum)

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree/National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Electrical Engineering (Light Current) or relevant qualification
- Minimum of 6 years post-qualification technical experience
- Compulsory registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technician
- Experience in working with electronic, mechanical equipment, and systems
- Experience with electronic test and measurement equipment
- Ability to draft and interpret complex technical drawings and schematics
- Undergo and pass a medical for seafarers as per SAMSA Act
- Willingness to spend extensive periods away from home on field trips and at sea on research vessels
- Good knowledge of the marine environment
- Computer-aided engineering application skills
- Technical design and analytical skills
- Project management skills
- Ability to work as a team member
- Good communication skills (verbal & written)
- Valid driver’s license (Code B)
Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and providing technical and research support, providing strategic leadership on technical matters, engaging in research and development activities, managing administrative and related functions, and contributing to human capital development.
